Protected: For it.com New gTLD 2026 Applicants
- by Joe Alagna
The new gTLD application window closes on August 14, and my advice is to have your application ready by the end of July. That's only a few weeks away, but if you start organizing now, there's still time. This email gives you much of what you will need.
First, about your string: Many applicants are holding their strings close to the chest until filing. That's fine. It changes nothing on our side, because we don't need to know your string to be your Registry Service Provider. Just make sure you understand our offer and check it.com in the dropdown box in ICANN's application interface (TAMS - Tld App. Mgmt. Sys.).
Choosing your RSP takes one selection in TAMS. it.com Domains has already passed ICANN's technical evaluation, so when you reach the RSP section of your application, you simply select it.com Domains from the dropdown. If you're reading this, you're already an insider, so don't forget these things about us:
- No fees for your first full year of delegation: Compliments of our CEO: it.com RSP services cost you nothing for your first year after delegation, and if you book 20,000–30,000 (or more) domains in year one, you still pay us nothing at all till year two. He wants you to have the same success we've had; by the end of 2026, the it.com zone will have over 200,000 domains under management.
- For Multiple TLD Applicants: If you are applying for more than one TLD, all your volume counts towards your volume pricing. This means big savings.
- Financial Stability: it.com Domains is backed by a multi-million dollar parent company (Intis Telecom), fully capable of sustaining our registry until you start making money.
- Integration is already handled. We work with any DNS or escrow provider, but our defaults are pre-connected: Netnod for DNS, DENIC Services for ICANN's data escrow requirement, and iQ Global for fraud management. Choose the defaults, and there is nothing to integrate; we handle it all. The only things left for you to think about are fees and business terms. Contacts for each are linked below.
- The fees fit in one spreadsheet. The linked it.com RSP fee calculator combines it.com, Netnod, and DENIC fees, so you can project your all-in costs at a glance.
Attached or Linked Below: Great Resources You Can Use:
- it.com RSP Price Sheet
- it.com RSP Fee Calculator (XLSX, all provider fees combined)
- it.com Registry-Services-Agreement
- ICANN Registry-Agreement (RA - contains ICANN-related costs)
- Netnod DNS Contact List
- DENIC Services Data Escrow Contact List
- iQ Global Fraud Detection Contact List
- Financial Projections Tool (built for ICANN’s requirement)
- Sample Application Answers Tool (captures the essence of TAMS)
- Contact list for Netnod, DENIC Services, and iQ Global
- Consider EarlyWarning report. It offers a good way to mitigate the risk in this round.
Remember: The ICANN Applicant Guidebook [link] is the authoritative guide to the application. Note that you’ll need a legally formed company and financial documentation to apply and an account at account.icann.org. For ICANN questions before you submit, write to [email protected]; after submission, use the inquiry inbox inside TAMS.
One more thing: clients who sign our RSP agreement also receive our Premium Domains Financial Projection Tool, a complete premium-domain strategy, reserved for confirmed it.com RSP clients.
All I ask is that you select it.com Domains in TAMS. If you’d like help finishing your application, please call me to discuss it. We aren’t writing applications, but we can surely brainstorm with you and give you a referral to someone who can help you write yours if you need that help. Just reply or call me. We’re happy to help you get off to a great start.
All the best,
Joe Alagna

PS Applications ready by end of July avoid the last-minute rush. If you’d like to talk it through, my calendar is open.
